    Velden tunnel race boat question

I have an old Velden race boat that I believe was raced by Rob Click image for larger version.

Name:	velden boat pic.jpg
Views:	60
Size:	220.6 KB
ID:	397656Wood. I am curious to see if anyone knows how it was rigged when raced. I know it was a V8 but would like to see if anyone knows any more. This is a picture that looks like it might be my boat. Any help would be appreciated I would like to set it up as it once was.

See if you can find Benny Robertson he would be able to give you the specifics about your boat. Since you are in Forest Lake I would reach out to Jeff Baker he may also know your boat and may be able to help.

This might help you. I brought these two posts over from Lars Strom's thread: Facts about larger racing engines made by OMC in the seventies and eighties. If you have any questions, you should post them on his thread. His has a wealth of OMC knowledge.

Another person you might contact is Mark Rotharmel (Canadian Motor Sports Hall of Fame inductee). Mark lives in Toronto and was driving F1 V8's at the same time Rob Wood was. I know that Mark was at Chattanooga and Pittsburg. If you need a phone or email for Mark just PM me. One of my bucket list items was to do a V8 boat/motor, but another rig showed up at my garage recently. I probably couldn't afford the entry price of a restorable V8, let alone the rigging costs, etc..... Good luck with yours!
