Olboatmans 77 Viper Project Thread
Well here we go.... I finally have some time (and the pics ) to start my Viper fit out thread.
It started when I was looking for a replacement for my 1985 OMC 140 that is on an 85 Carlson CVX 17 I bought about 4 yrs ago and broke a ring a couple of yrs later. I saw on S&F that racervboat had a modded one for sale that had never been used after he built it.
I bought the power head then the rest of the mota (with 15" mid, dry stacked and coned LU) then realized I needed a smaller and lighter boat for it. A year later I saw 427 Man had this Viper for sale ....made the deal on a Tuesday and Frank Mole delivered it to my garage on Sunday!!! I wish my construction business went so well!

The mid and clamp were painted ( a great job too) blue and I decided I would have to make some changes.

The pan had some small nooks and cranys so I put my power toothbrush with sandpaper to work....Don't do this to your teeth!!!
But the outcome was good using Cast Aluminum (Plasti Coat) and Clear

I also decided to clean and paint the cowl interior...what a lot of work.
I also gave it a couple of clear coats.

I like it. What particular silver is that. I`m going to do some painting soon and silver is the color just have not decided on which silver yet.

Bull It is called Cast Aluminum Rebuilders paint by Plasti-Coat.....Looks like bead blasted aluminum up close(which was what I was going to do if time wasn't an issue) Then I applied at least 3 coats of clear. It is a lacquer based paint ( I'm old and have a good relationship with lacquer...lol) I have done all the painting in my work shop (different building) that I can keep real warm (smaller than Toy Box) as I do all my restoring in the winter and like fast drying coatings.
