We had one when I was a kid it leaked exhaust into the air chamber I still to this day remember waking up under water from carbon monoxide poisoning like I was dreaming, lucky I didn’t die.

These units got a bum rap because people didn't use them properly. Such as diving in caves without fresh air circulation, or not making sure the exhaust muffler was securely tightened

Sorry just saw it was yours it was a loose muffler was the problem with ours, as with any of these gas operated ones adult supervision would have helped keep me safe I got it out of an old storage shed and got it running with no instructions and as a kid not thinking of how bad exhaust fumes are. Good luck looks awesome.

No problem, I just took it wrong...
We used it quite a bit when we're younger. It was a lot of fun. Not to mention the lures and props we found!

You should get ahold of Carl Stirns Marine...they might be interested in it as an antique because they sold it many years ago.

Not a bad idea, never thought about that. I am actually friends with the owner....He would probably want me to donate it to the cause, ha ha!!

That is lucky. Maybe extend an exhaust pipe straight up a few feet with diving flag, correctly so not to burn. Damm it looks like it has that. Looks like a OMC Lawnboy motor.

It is a Lawn Boy motor. The exhaust pipe/muffler is double walled and does not get hot on the exterior wall.
