245 Carb Merc Parts Swap
I don't have a 2.5 EFI horn front end to check this with, so I thought I would just ask!
-I have a 245 Carb and I have a EFI 2.4 Bridgeport(horn motor)
- Can I take the front of the crank case to the horn off the 2.4 and put it on the 2.5 for an injected motor?
- Will the electrics/ECM work on the 2.5, or do I need 260 Parts? Or did I just make a 260?
If anyone has tried this please let me know if it is possible!
Thanks

Have read where Jeff Dunn has machined the 2.4 front half to fit the 2.5 small bearing stuff, but dont know that info first hand.

I've always had a hard time with usin' mis-matched case halves on real stem winder motors anyway.. jus can't see tha 2.4 to a 2.5 being worth a $hit for bein' very trustworthy for a bunch of expensive parts............ jmo.

if i put the horn you have or a horn from a 260 will it be a 260 or are there other differences in the block? I can understand the wiring harness will be different, but what else?

Block is all the same. 260 was efi and 245 was carb version. You will need an ecu and the efi harness
