    throttling twins

Last season I removed the throttle return springs on both motors since the boat had a dual hand throttle which would creep back unless I kept a hand on them.
I want to install a split foot throttle and use a single hand throttle to over ride it for cruising. Will having the foot throttle necessitate re installing the return springs ?
If so how do I eliminate the hand unit creeping back from the spring pressure? Does anyone have their twins set up like this, and if so are there any concerns or
    drawbacks to doing this ?

Foot throttle will need return springs, once you have a foot throttle you wont use the hand throttle. Land & Sea made a combo foot throttle and return spring is needed.
