There was a drag car years ago(probably late 60's or early 70's) that tried compressed air.

Electric supercharger is another variant of a non parasitic loss power enhancer..I look at the air pressure one as nitrous oxide w/o the danger of blowing the motor. Runs normal, then goes into insane mode...At the flip of a switch. One of the guys on the project is the owner of NOS systems.
