How did I do it

I will be the first to admit I know very little about computers. Today I was going thru the site and my computer started talking to me. I assume it was thru this site somehow cuz it called me by my screen name. Now many of my friends call me Rock so that is not that unusual however my computer does not know me that well. It wasn't like a conversation or anything just the title of the thread, number of posts, likes etc. Had it asked me how I was doing or how I did in the tournament yesterday or how my folks were doing I would have freaked and thrown it out figuring it was possessed or something. Apparently there is a button or something I hit that caused this so I assume this is normal and I am just not knowledgeable about the function. Please enlighten me. Thanks.

If your using Windows 10, the Cortana "function" can be turned off. She "it" listens to what your saying and responds. Windows 7 has a similar program, less invasive and not as sensitive.

What operating system you running?

Or maybe just a pre new year, a little to much fun last night?

Thanks James. I just had a new hard drive installed on my laptop and the mechanic installed Windows 10. Appreciate the links. BTW....I did have a good time last night however there is no such thing as "too much fun".
