Nobody has had one in (true) rough water but I have spent a lot of time in a 24, 28, and 32 skaters running Lake Michigan. The fact is that if you are going to try and run hard in real water, inboards and 36 feet plus are the answer (weight is your friend and the boats stay hooked up). The reasons that I got so excited about these hulls when I saw it on Doug's design screen was that it was small enough to take on the rivers and lakes that we run all of the time, its fast, its modern, its a manageable size to trailer and I could afford it. I am going to need to have you help me with a new garmin 360 cam so that it can be documented soon-I have the next one coming out.

No problem Joe. Be happy to help. I hear ya about inboards but for someone on a limited budget and not wanting all the maintenance and headaches I enjoy my O/B Skaters. With a good set up they are not too bad. We had the Mobil One boat dialed in back in the day. There was not a faster 28 Skater ever on the race course and it ran the kilos around 118mph with 2.5 carbureted motors. Look forward to seeing your when it is done.

Merry christmas to you Patty and the boys as well Jim. Hopefully Doug Herrell will have Paul's boat painted around the 3rd week of Jan. and he will start mounting the hardware so we can get it in the water and start refining the setup. Hows your project coming? looking forward to seeing it.

We are getting close, mid January I get to drive to Michigan and pick it up. Hope for a window of good weather, to grab and go. It will still have a month at PPI, and our rigging time.

There’s no words to describe that. But I’m not sure its beating a correctly rigged 28 skater in real world ocean stuff than I’ll b really impressed. It’s like the dw32. It’s faster than a 318 now but give Peter another year or 2 n it w at least b even.
    11757 btw lol
