...in 1966, there was a 90 and a 100 h.p. version, depending on which model OMC 16' boat it came in, which was a single engine boat...

I still remember my amazement the first time I ran the power trim with the engine box removed - the entire flippin' engine & lower moved as one !! The "ball gears" couldn't deal with much angle under power, so the front of the engine was moved up and down for trim. Tilt/trailer mode moved just the outdrive via a separate electric motor gear drive. If you had never seen it before, it was rather strange to say the least.
