Bolt that up to a 3.2 if it had a tall gear and look out. I can't imagine the net h.p. loss that it took away back when they didn't have it to give.

I see twice the drag. 3 times hp to turn compared to single lower. Add this up and you have a turd that looks cool in the museum.

Dave,
Those cases are tiny compared to a sportmaster. When I built my first XR6 case, I quickly learned how sensitive size is in relation to drag. It was unreal how much better the boat pulled. Now I get a close result by running the cheater pick up and or a remote pick up and get the case way up. Secondly the twin screw could be much better for slip and hole shot capabilities along with added lateral stability at real speed. I just don't think that they had the extra horsepower to get the intended result back then.
