Not 100 lb heavier than a V4. I think the 100 cube V4's were around 300 lb. my 115 HO Etec is actually heavier than my 225 Promax.

Buy one of the 200XS motors in the motor for sale section. Once they are sold I won't hear them calling me anymore.

What about a 200 2.4 with the chrome lined cylinders? That drops what? 10-15 pounds? Plus with a single ram, not sure if it is lighter all in all compared with the integral, but you can use the external trim pump as ballast. My offshore boat has the trim pumps under the deck!
I ran my mod '80 235 on my Allison XB CompPro 110 miles plus a bit of playtime and used 25-26 gallons. Cruise speed was around 70 swinging a 29" wheel. I played with the trim watching the GPS and RPM.... I'll put it up against any Merc!

Wouldn't you want to mod a v4 to keep weight down? Does Merc have any nice v4'? You only hear about the v6'
