Possibly but the one that killed itself on my motor was painted black and defiantly only had one crank bearing.

Now that I think about it, the new compressor was made in USA and the original was made in Mexico. It was several years ago that I went through this, my memory isn't what it once was.

Replace the oil line filters as well. Or, at least inspect them carefully. Oil flows in and out of the compressor.

10-4. Are there filters besides the screens on the brass 90įs for the return lines?

Small white plastic filters with directional arrows on them. On the oil supply lines. Also,I guess you know to prime the oil system and go back into break in mode for the new compressor?

Got it all back togethor. So I was going to take it to the dealer my buddy works at to have the oil line primed and whatnot and found out the compressors come oiled from the factory? Should I fire it up or what and spend the money and have the Merc tech fire it for he first time

After replacing my compressor and all the oil filters I primed the pump/lines/compressor. You can prime everything by putting the engine back into break-in mode. Turn ignition key to on position then shift in and out of forward 3-5 times. you'll hear the pump run for a bit priming the whole system.

oh about those filters, I didnít find any. The two return lines went straight from the compressor to top and bottom crank bearings. Only filters I found were very fine screens in the brass 90į fittings coming out of the compressor for the return lines. Also there was a one way valve going from the fuel rail air side to the end of the vst. I cleaned that out. See picture

These are what the old compressor had. In place of these white filters I keep hearing about. Now Iím wondering if the new style compressor I got has these or if I need to get the white filters.

Took it down to my buddy at the Merc dealer. Hooked it up and tested the injectors and number 4 wasnít firing. Guess thatís what I get for being impatient and sending them local when I should have sent them back east. Canít swallow 485$ for a new one so back to eBay it is. This is getting expensive lol
