Has anyone cut and shortened 20 inch offshore clamp ram to 15 inch ?
Going to have Calhoun cut a 3.0 litre can and offshore clamp , no problem there , however what I wont live with is the stock length offshore clamp ram interfering with cavitation plate and or not being able to trim all the way down .
Question is who is cutting the stock offshore ram from 20 to 15 inches if nobody Ill do it myself . I don't think mercury sells these any longerLast edited by LOSTINJ; 11-26-2017 at 11:42 AM.

I have had Charlie (Chaz) do several for me and he has done a bunch of them for others as well.

Use the advanced search feature, put Chaz in the user name box and it will bring up all his post and pics except for the ones he used photobucket for.

Our machinist does it, I forget what it cost, but he actually cuts the housing, makes a male/female register and welds it all back together.

Thanks I was just going to ask this question,as I have a 20 inch offshore mid [bass can ] I want to make it a 15 inch and run a 2.4 2.5 v-6 on my 16 ft Allison and was wondering the same thing about the ram length. Will check it out but if that's the case I can do all the work myself also just was wondering about the long ram?Was going to go sst 120 style as I do not need tilt really so an easier option thanks guys another winter project LOL
