I like how you inset the motor board. It will act like a notched bottom allowing the motor to be raised higher. The aft extensions will act like fixed trim tabs and give stern lift with the benefit of moving the cg fwd. Good design overall with added hi sides for carrying a heavy load. And best of all, funnels would have hated it......

Gary--moving fast. I can't wait for you to turn her over so I can see how you converted a kneel down utility to a dinghy.
On an unrelated note--Tunnels got banned? Crotchety know it all, but he really did have some knowledge if you could ignore the obnoxiousness.Per Rock:

That thing is going to smoke with a 35 if you can find a stiff enough prop.

Here is two coats of varnish.
Will get five or six more total. Plan now is just to get the construction done and the woodgrain sealed so we can move in three weeks.
The boat will not be glassed it adds too much weight.
This is the best prop I've found so far but will still go to to Rich at leading edge propeller for more pitch and some of his magic.
Will be a handful driven by a tiller which I do not like. Already wired a kill lanyard to the motor.
We'll see.
Thanks for the compliments guys. Been 20 years since I built a boat so little slow on this one :-)Last edited by Instigator; 11-27-2017 at 03:23 PM.

Thought so from the earlier post--a bronze prop. I love it!

Props are the biggest PIA for these motors!
The one in the pic is actually pin drive that I pressed a splined hub into to work on this motor.
Michigan made some great wheels for them and so did OJ but that was 50 yrs ago and now all the e-bayers think there collector items.
Have more time/effort in them that you can imagine. Best one was an OJ 3 blade on the 25 I had on the inflatable.
Pressed in a different hub and had to cut down the diameter just to get it on the motor. And the blades were cracked when I bought it!I'd rather be competitive w/junk I built in my garage than win w/stuff I bought.

Headway
Not where I expected to be after 2 wks but the house sale/showings are killing me.
Tried to work on it yesterday then when realtor called w/a showing.
Closed up the shop and left for 2 hrs and they were a no show!
Then they called back, going through our agent and wanted to come back a half hr later.
Ugh
Another one in the morning.
That is a good problem to have though.
Should get other side deck on tomorrow then stain and varnish it and call it a day until moved.I'd rather be competitive w/junk I built in my garage than win w/stuff I bought.
