Gary, that is epic! I absolutely love boats like this. We need to shoot photos of it!

Had a 10' Zodiac but was a PIA when you really use it like we do.

Found a set of plans on Glen L.com that was close to what I wanted. I inset the motor boar to keep overall length at 10' to match the transom of our cruiser. Any longer and it sticks past the sides of our hull and will snag entering/leaving dock.

Building it form 5 ply, 1/4'" Okume marine plywood.
Ive built a bunch of plywood boats but never w/this much curve. In theory, a panel will bend side to side or end to end but not both.
That is a compound bend/curve. The side of this boat have a ton and I almost passed on it cuz I didnt think it would work.

The pc on the transom is only there to hold everything square until the skin goes on.

    Target weight is 100lbs.
I have a 35 hp motor for it that I just went through and painted.

    Should run good.

We are moving in 3 wks and I lose my shop so I am under the gun. The skin went on this weekend.

Last picture is this design, framed for a full deck. Mine will be mostly open.

    Thanks Greg.
Hope to get it stained today and can't wait to see how it comes out.

Staining it to look like an old barrel back mahogany speed boat from the '40's.

Ill get it off the jig and righted after Thanksgiving and it will go fast then.

Let's see.....100 pound boat. 35 horse motor. But of course! It is an Instigator rig. Gary, looking great. Been to long since I have built one. Hoping to retire in a couple of years and build my Fort Lauderdale idle zone boat--a planked harbor launch with a little diesel in it.
    Per Rock:

"Once I bought my first Hydrostream boating changed forever for me."

    Per my hero Instigator:

"I try not to let common sense interfere w/my boat buying decisions."

    As in building one?

    Id love to.
Started one yrs ago but couldn't get the shape I wanted.
    Maybe next time.

Also, in considering one this time, I don't think I can build one as light as this one.

My 300 lb capacity on my davits are the limiting factor.
Motor is 90, boat will probably be 120, finished and rigged, 6 gls fuel and tank = 60 and I'm pretty close.
My davits are removable and the slide in bases are the weak link. I copied the St Croix design and the base plates are too thin and are bending.
That davits themselves have held my 200 lbs.

    Headway

Here is why you use a jig when you build/rebuild/re-core your lightweight hot rod.
No daylight under the level. Not bad for 1/4" plywood.
BTW, that's the same 2' level I used to set up my kneel down boats a 100 yrs ago.
