1978 Mercury 140 Hp outboard

1978 Mercury Outboard 140 HP serial number - 5094195
Motor is 20-inch midsection, distributor ignition, freshwatermotor from Missouri. Removed andreplaced rear water jacket cover and both interior and external exhaust baffle/water jacket covers. Replaced all fuel lines with new ethanol resistant fuel line, new fuel pump diaphragm and gaskets.Timing belt replaced. Carbs soaked and cleaned and reassembled with newgasket kits. Trigger wires were crusty so that was replaced with a much newerone. Already has CDI aftermarket internal wiring harness and stator so allwiring on this motor is in really good shape. Compression even at 125-130 in all 6 holes. Fuel bleed lines replaced with new tubing. No external crud orcorrosion on motor leg indicating it spent most of its life in fresh water. Has external twin ram power trim rams, hoses and pump with it. Trim Hoses show usualweathering but no visible leaks. Cowlings and wrap have no dents, weathered some but very useable as is. Cylinder block has no serial number stamped on it so was replaced at some point in the past.Lower unit was disassembled, cleaned,inspected and resealed with all new seals, replaced bent prop shaft, new water pump. Pressure tested and held 15 psi overnight . Skeg has a small ding out of it in the middle.Starts quick, crisp throttle response. Shifts gears smoothly.No prop,no gas tank, no controls included. Will test run and compression test for potential buyers.

Made a committment early this week to a guy in tallahassee eho is supposed to come get it this saturday. If he doesnt show , its yours.
