New to me comp layup Laser 380 Ray
Just wanted to post some pics! Drove down to Harrisburg Pennsylvania from central Massachusetts on Friday to complete an almost 800 mile round trip in one day. I don’t have one bit of regret!! Fully restored laser 380 ray that has been setup to run as a stringer boat. I have a slightly modified 2.4 200 that I hung on the back for the time being until I can get something a little more potent. At this point just have to finish converting it from omc to merc. Can’t wait to have it out next weekend!

They are great boats! Just make sure the stringers and transom are good. My comp had rotten stringers.
post more pics!"If everything's under control, you're going too slow"

Hey thanks man! I’ve seen a couple of your vids on YouTube. Awesome boat! And it was all redone a few years ago with new wood and glass. She’s super solid.

I'm in the process of rebuilding a Kevlar hull 380. It has a floor in it that I'm cutting out and thinking of doing a stringer set up like yours.

It should say Kevlar by the HIN or on the port side in the same spot. I found the boats like weight in the rear. Originally I had a 200 XP Evinrude on it with some stuff done to it on a 5 1/2" Bobs Machine Shop hydraulic set back, center steer, Bobs low water pick up. A lot of fun to drive. Best prop at that time was a 29 SRX with some work done to it. Ran the engine at 6800-7200 rpms.

Same boat. Only diff is stock race boats vrs lake boats layup and build. Race boats were Kevlar/klegicell with full stringers and no floor and of coarse weight diff. In the late 80`s Laser changed the deck and called it a 380 ski but had the same bottom.
