Mid 80's Power Trim on 150

Looking at a mid-80's 150 to buy. It appears the power trim pump is the old style one that goes inside the boat. I don't have room for that nor do I want the extra plumbing. Can I just change the transom brackets and add the new style power trim unit that goes right on the brackets?

You will need to swap the entire clamp bracket, trim unit and swivel bracket....including the swivel pin & yoke. Keep your can, mounts and 2 pc adapter

Oh the swivel too. I didn't think of that. OK, thanks. Didn't buy yet, still considering. The motor will need other work too, but the compressin is supposed to be OK.

150 two liter? They are heavy, but run like a clock. If you are weight sensitive, I would look for a newer 135. Roughly the same HP and they have the integral trim.
