Merc will prob get run out of the market by the japs and chineese before it's all over. Wherever you go the amount of yammis far exceeds the number of mercs. Writings on the wall.

The "former" Mercury dealer in the town I grew up in sold out to Yamaha a few years ago and if I remember correctly he can't touch a Mercury for 10 years. I wanted to purchase a cleaver next year for the STV as I have stored it for the winter but I guess I will have to make the purchase now... I was debating between a 30P & a 32P given the difference in Rake I may have to purchase both so as to be sure I have the best performance - un !@#$%^ real.
Jacos has a list of props it looks like will not be made any longer.

I tried to find this out. Best I could come up with is that Brunswick had major shake up in 2014 and split/sold some of their companies. High level promotions and new management at that point for the water group. They (Brunswick) may still actually own it...but new vision for their future on the water going forward with the new head cheeses.

I would guess an insurance holdings company owns it. They seem to get their hands on anything with the size and the market share of mercury's product line. They have all the capitol that they can easily sit on and need to spread it around some to limit exposure of excessive capitol loss. Ins. co's have a LOT of sticks in the fire at one time....

The Brunswick Q2 earnings presentation has some information about how Merc is doing, as well as some data on the US boat market.

The factbook shows that half of Mercury's revenues come from parts and accessories:

List shows labbed bravo 1s and Maximus out too. Those are pretty standard props for performance I/os. Not sure what they r thinking. I assume standard bravo 1s stay and max 5s replace them

The dollars and cents already don't make sense, reason Merc abandoning it, so doubtful another will jump into the hole. Aftermarket will see a bonus though so not all that bad a deal.
