    Well where do i start 1996 Mercury 200 efi (OG304525)??????? MELT DOWN.

    Hello All my belief is that i had a 1996 200 efi(this was on the lower unit as it attached to the boat OG304525), After the motor over heated i decided to rebuild the motor. i started to take the motor apart this is what i found head part number is(18488-C4) front half (969-9078-C5) block number (884-97-63C) can anyone tell what i have from the infomation I have provided?

    You'll get a lot more info with pictures and maybe a serial number.

    See if there is a serial number stamped in the block plug (on top of block) above the starboard cylinder bank.

    Do the sleeves have exhaust relief ports? 200s do not
    175 and 150 do.

    how about stamped letters on side of block above throttle lever- right along front and back half mate line? Look for something like CC, DD FF plus there should be a manufacture date
    stamped in same area
