I don't remember them being lame off idle. Yes I remember the idle a bit higher but also compression in that idle which sounded good. It's been a few years.

if you manage to get over 120hp out of that you will then need another boat to put it on !!!.

They say ya learn something everyday. Today I learned smaller crossflows are better for pulling skiers, and bigger one's don't idle so good. Thank you for sharing ...

Any 140 I've owned idled fine @ 700 - 750 rpm. Or thereabouts. Just like they're posed to? And they came outa the hole faster'n a 115, or a 90?

Dunno why but that reminded me of the first time Dad took me water skiing. Said if'n ya fall, let go of the rope. I didn't. And that sob dragged me around Biscayne Bay til I almost drowned, and finally let go. He calmly idled around and said, "If you fall let go of the rope" ...

Here are a few just now. The rear end sort of rounded pad has been patched after these pics were taken. This rounded pad will be made more square. The whole bottom will be "Blueprinted" there is a severe hook aft starboard "this was from sitting on a half bunked trailer for a year or two" So not only am i building the engine i also have a hull to do
Boat is 660lbs but will carry
Fuel 100lbs
Engine 300lbs
Battery 40lbs
Driver 140lbs
total normal running weight. 1240lbs

I would get rid of the roller bunks and get good, solid boards for ti to set on and extend beyond the transom.
