Yeah i know a dremel lol. I was looking on CC Speciality tools youtube channel about chamfering the ports. They say about .5mm
Iam like a sponge soaking up all i can about doing this mod. Really looking forward to it.
Hopefully if i can get all the pictures up it may encourage others to take it on as well.
If not at least it will be a good read

your just rounding the edge of the port so its not sharp is all, less chance of catching a ring.

So that covers the porting side of things
Next Honing what is best for the DIYer ie me
    3 stones spring loaded https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Cylinder-...0AAOSwxbtZmvwj

    Or Flex Ball http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/3-1-2-Cyli...YDYD8zf5dCpnSw

Bear in mind my bore is 3 1/2" ie 88.9mm the flex ball does 89mm

Which is best to use its only de-glazing
What grit should i be looking at 240 ?

spybot glad to see your getting the info your needing . I have been watching this thread and holding off replying because I am going from memory from 15+ yrs ago . Anyways helped a buddy do what your doing to his 85 Johnny , early 80's but think it was prop rated . Can't remember for sure what we did to the ex. ports but he did get the 140 deflector and bubble back . On the intakes I do remember they were 5/8" round and I put the block in my mill and used a 5/8 slot drill to square the port moving the cutter 1/16" each way wider and 1/16" up to the deck . This made a nice 11/16" x 3/4" rect. port with 5/16" radius corners . I Cut the heads .030" to raise compression to make up for raised port and he got some carbs from a newer (I think 120) they were plastic bodies . Motor ran real nice when done more power everywhere , made for excellent 16' ski runabout power . Hope that helps good luck with your project .

You need a rigid hone to properly hone the block. When you chamfer the ports it is not just the top side.

negative on the dingle berry hone being rigid . A sunnen AN-110 is a suitable hone . A engine shop could do that for you . It only needs a couple strokes with 280 stones and it will show the cyl. wear . Might be the way to go and they can see if it needs to be bored. Are your in. ports 5/8 round ? What are the ex. ? might help refresh my memory .

spybot I have some corrections to post 96 . I talked to my buddy last night and he thinks the motor was an 1982 and it was a 90 not an 85 . He couldn't remember the porting , and I started to wonder after I posted if it wasn't the ex. ports that started as 5/8 round . I think I raised both in. and ex. by 1/16 and widened 1/16 each way for a total of 1/8 wider . It would be safer to not raise the ports and just widen and increase area and not change the height (timing) as the others have said . Sorry for any confusion .
