Kept em afloat for awhile. Brilliant marketing move btw. If'n ya could almost afford a 90, or 115. Certainly you could afford an 88 or 112 ...

Ok this may sound stupid but is it possible to drill out the ports using a drill press or do they have to be milled ??????

OK so i just mark out the sizes you gave grind it out. Square at the top and round for the rest ?
I have an old block that i can practise on heck if it goes wrong its me to blame on the other hand if it goes well, i can say i did my self
I will use the grinder to take out the bottom rib for the exhaust as well.
Will post pics of my progress Thanks to you guys for all the help and advice.
Im in Scotland and trying to find anyone who has done work on these old motors is hard never mind trying to find someone who has tuned one.
I appreciate the time you guys take to answer my questions even though they may seem dumb sometimes, but i know zero about these motors. I have the factory service manual (Shipped from the US) Read it over a few times but it says nothing of doing what im trying to do. Its all down to the support of this forum that will hopefully turn my old 85 into an almost 140

no I just use a straight one no need for an angle. You can get bits in different lengths.Go ahead and square off the ports top and bottom for the close final work a dremel tool works great you should know what that is?Be sure to chamfer all the ports when your done so you won't lose a ring.If the block needs boring or honing do the ports first just incase you slip you can always chamfer them after. When your done you will have a 140hp fresh motor on the cheap cause your not paying any labor just the boring if you need to.
