95 OMC 150, max timing, 175 throttle bodies n carbs. ? PLEASE...ANYONE?
It is on a light boat. stock, with ccm reeds. 93 oct,gas...can I go to 22 degrees? No lugging here either idling or WOT... worked 23-24p 4 blade renegade, 6000@67... I pull the plugs and inspect after each outing. Should I be happy with what I am getting, and leave it at 20? I am checking it at 5300 going across the lake. Would 175 throttle bodies reeds and carbs give me anything? ANY TIPS WOULD BE APPRECIATED!

Reguarding timing
I think that you are doing pretty good with what you have. You can try advancing it a little, but keep an eye on the piston tops. If you don't pick up any rpm's just put it back to 20. You might want to try and find a set of throttle bodies and carbs.from a 175. Seeing how you are on a tight budget, and can't afford a re-power.

Thanks for the reply. I have ported and rebuilt a few v-6 cross flows. There are some good looper mod threads on here. just waiting for this one to burn a piston or eat a ring so I can go spybot on it..lol. Wish I could get just a little help here with the timing and 175 parts Questions. Did I mention I'm schizophrenic?

Thanks FORBESAUTO.. I just got frustrated with so many knowledgeable people on this site, I thought I would have gotten a quick answer. I lightened it up 60lbs. set timing at 22btdc and ran 69@ 6100, 7% slip. plugs and pistons look good. I'm proud of those #'s... Still would like to know if 175 throttle bodies reeds and carbs. would give me anything?
Sorry racervboatI was having a bad day.....
