There have been many props touted as blade slingers over the years . Some of Mercs original castings of the promax and many others. There have been a few that no one complains of for slinging a blade and the Drag4 is one of them. Any prop can sling a blade surfaced for many years like Demeanor said nicks manifested to worse ect... Stock Spinelli,Stock Performance Props DR3 and 4 and most Hydromotives are very robust propellers with a great reputation for reliability and performance. Ive only had 2 blades sling both were worked and thin. Both were mercs. haha Ran very very good but for my application the risk isnt worth the reward. There are plenty of stock props that work almost as good as worked ones that you dont have to worry about these days.

I thought the blasters started as Merc Bravo Ones?
I'd rather be competitive w/junk I built in my garage than win w/stuff I bought.
I refuse to allow common sense to interfere w/my boat buying decisions.

I think the Hill props are a good value IF you know right from the start you need to have it worked. They are not consistent in pitch from blade to blade, prop to prop. Its like buying a new car that need a tune up right from the factory.
Most of you guys know Im a dealer for Performance Propeller. I dont like to pimp them as Im not a supporting vendor here. Tim builds a great prop though. The downside is he doesnt have a big inventory. The upside is they seem to be very reliable and consistent.
Performance does have to 4 blade surfacing props. The Drag4 which is VERY popular and he SC4 which is a 4 blade ET and VERY similar to the Blaster/Hill. If you order one from Tim and you have anything you want done within reason it is done at no extra charge. He finishes each prop to the customer specs. The price vs quality I think is as good as you will find. Finish work is always very good.
If you want the absolute best finish work send it to Rich at Leading Edge and he will eventually send you back a piece of stainless steel jewelry. The blades will be perfectly consistent.13' Biel tunnel AKA "Flight Risk"

I wouldn't cut a fart with one of Ron's props. You're better off spending a little loot, especially for what he is charging these days, by the time you have it "worked" it's all a wash anyway.

I dont think horsepower kills these props. Its the surfacing loading/unloading fatigue and then add in thin blades, casting flaws, and lack of maintenance or striking small debris. Ive cracked props with my little V4 when it was stock.
