    I don't watch any TV...Lol

Is spinning in the prevailing set up for 24s? Spinning out the props counter each other's leverage on the hull when in turns. Does spinning in provide more stern/bow lift for speed? Lol...now you know why my post count is such.

When you have blade in the tunnel then spinning in will give it transom lift. When the motors are mounted further out then turning them out is beneficial for both performance and handling. My past experience tells me that this boat will act better turning out with a good set of Dewalds or Herings on it where the motors are mounted now. Its pretty easy to see what works by paying some attention to the current X-cat and S-class set ups.

Thanks JPEROG. You probably have a better information conduit with various race teams than most of us recreational boaters. How do rigging shops decide motor centers on cats, manufacturer's recommendations or ? I read what George Linder recommended the centerline should be but was curious about the process.

It used to be that everyone went just wide enough to keep the gear case out of the tunnel. Now as we are getting multiple blade propellers, there is the same or better bite then before and guys are able to protect the entire prop dia. and run it in clean packed water. This is not 100% the rule as a whole but pay attention to the X-cat guys and what their centers have done over the past 2 years. I am waiting for the telescopic tie bar and Jack plates that slide both vertical and horizontal-only then will we solve true efficiency puzzle.

On a different note, I was talking to a guy that has rigged dozens of fast cats (from outboards with 14 1/2 inch dia. to inboard speedmasters with 17 1/2 dia.) and he mounts all of them at the same distance out of the tunnel. I was more then surprised.

Don't know what distance your man sets his at but, Mr. Linder mentioned 3" out of tunnel. I would think that back then the variety of tunnels and bottoms was not as numerous as it is today though so more variables to play with now. Enough hijack and my apologies to Warren and Wildman.

you are way off base on JPerog. Joe owns several performance boats. and gives great information to the members on here. from single engine stv's to triple engine skaters he has years of knowledge and helps many with setup and prop questions.

Sorry to rub you the wrong way. (There is my apology) I can tell you that I have spent a lot of time and money to set boats up over the last 40 years and have learned the hard way in many cases of what worked and what didn't. I am also VERY lucky to have friends with a ton more knowledge then I ever will so I do my best to answer questions and inject information that might save people some time and give them a better result. Time to head back down to the Ft. Lauderdale show to dream.

Thanks man ... no not for lunch ( well that too ) ... but for this :

I am waiting for the telescopic tie bar and Jack plates that slide both vertical and horizontal-only then will we solve true efficiency puzzle.
Now I won't sleep tonight thinking about ..... if the inside motor goes deeper and is trimmed and turned more , it will keep the inside sponson planted , and the outside from plowing the back of the gear case sideways thru the center of the turn .... Ohhh noooo it's already started ..

Chaz = thinkin Red Rocket will be profilin-deep this summer ...
