Mercury Racing Solid Hub Kit 840389K06
Can you replace the rubber sections on this hub or do you just replace the entire hub. if you can replace the rubber sections are the y sold by Mercury and what type of adhesive is used, or better does someone rebuild them?

The four plastic pieces are sold separately by Mercury, but the price they charge for them and the washers and nut is enough that I thought it made sense to just buy the whole kit. I checked my old used plastic parts against the new ones that came on the new hub and they were identical, no wear.
If you have the four pieces and just need to reattach them, while it looks like Mercury used 2 sided tape on one of my hubs, when they started coming loose I just used gorilla glue on mine.
These HD solid hubs don't really wear and from my experience even the four plastic pieces don't wear, so not really a requirement to rebuild them, just reassemble.
I guess having a look at the shaft splines and the internal hub splines is a good ideal but I think you would have to hit something while under load to do anything to them.08 Checkmate 2100br 250xs
