Theres a nice little ramp parking right here. Just up river a few miles from where most launch. Its just up the road from the Hales Bar Marina which is a cool place to stay and they have fuel (not sure on octane). They have floating cabins to rent. Very cool place and you can tie your boat to your front porch on the cabin.

This is the marina with the cabins. When we were there we di the old damn ghost tour and later that night found a grown over childrens cemetery. I gotta say I was a little creeped out but we had a lot fun.

It is right at 40 miles from Shellmound to the Chattanooga City docks according to the river mile markers. And depending on the inside & outside of turns, LOL. Shellmound Ramp is at about mile marker 425.5. There is a public ramp on the South side of the river just below Chickamauga Dam, mile marker 469, which is about 4 miles past the Chattanooga City docks. There is a good ramp, mile marker 453, on the North side of the river on Suck Creek Road a few miles West of town off of Signal Mountain Road. The dock at the ramp was falling apart & unusable 2 years ago when I last used it. TVA has one at Raccoon Mtn. but it is off US Highway 41 a bit. There is a nice public ramp, mile marker 440, right off of US Hwy 41 (Southeast side of the river). I believe it is called Grand Canyon ramp. It is across the street from a store called Sullivan's. There is another public ramp called Guild Boat Ramp (I believe this is the one Mr. Demeanor mentioned above) near Hales Bar Marina (just South of the marina, mile marker 430) a bit hard to find w/o knowing the area & isn’t far from Shellmound Ramp.

Do ya'll run 40 miles flat out at WOT? Seems like fun and maybe risky on a motor. I'm new to this concept and would love to come one year.

We did the Thursday and Friday runs . Great weather and big fun . I really enjoyed the Thursday run since I have never been in that direction before . I think I was the only stern drive both days . Hf...
