Anybody running Gen 2 Verado's on a 28-32ft. performance cat hull??
I have a 30ft. performance cat that I am redoing and was wondering if anybody has been running Gen 2 Verado's on performance cats. Wondering about surfacing props, lower units, nosecones and water intakes etc.. I like the idea of the Whipple PCM upgrades. If anybody is running something like this what kind of speeds are you seeing??

Verado's run very well and make big reliable HP . We have done Tunes for everything from pontoon boats to race offshore cats. Here is a new tool that we just released for upgrades .

I have done twin on 31' offshore hull, engines are nice for fishing boats, super quite and reliable but no personality what so ever, i have 5.44 HD lower units that cant be run high due not having capabilities of picking up water, i had to do transom water pick ups and plug every single hole (that becomes useless if running motors high) on the lowers, very anoying and time/money consuming, hopefully these new sportmasters would do better but still diameter is huge that causes lots of drag.
again this is my experience but would never go this route again, better go with 250 XS, I bet they will make more power then verado 300.

I would like to send my twin ECU's to you for upgrades, Im only having 89 octane avaliable thought, as well if i jump over bigger wave and dont pull throttle on time (due to a time lag and mercury throttle controls been in awkward position way foward) motors revs into limiter and places motors into 2k rpms limp mode, then i have to stop and go over again, very anoying since the hull wants to go fast and can take a big water, is there anything that can be done to work this issue out?
thank you,
iliya from NYC

The 50 cent option is what I would do. (For Sale sign). Run 300XS motors until you can justify buying four strokes with sportmasters.

Thanks guys.. I needed some insight on trying something like this. Definitly can't pony up the coin for the newer 400's!! Might have to stick with my 2.5's..

Eric,
I see you guys were running the same Cobra as mine a while back, do you still run it. If you are, what power do you have on it presently and how does it run?? I am also interested in your scan tool, I bought some MAD EFI intakes for my 2.5's and will need some tunes done eventually, you have anything that can help me out??30 Cobra Terminator Merc 2.5's

does a 300 verado use more fuel than a 300xs?

Hi,
I did a single Promax 300 with SVS on my Phantom. It used 1,5 litre per nautical mile at 4,000 rpms. Verado 350 Sci and Verado 400R consumes 1 litre per nautical mile at 4,000 rpms. Same gear ratio on all motors. So the Verado consumes 33% less than ol school 2 stroke. On top you have two stroke oil
