1989 Johnson gt200 lower unit help

hey everyone..i have been a long time lurker, somewhat new poster. my dad, who somewhat recently passed away, used to post here sometimes (VELOCITOY). anyway, i inherited a 1985 3.6 275 evinrude from him. currently i dont have a use for it, and it has a (i think bobs) nose cone/low water pickup. i run a 1989 johnson gt200 on a hydrostream vegas. at the moment i have a stock lower unit on the johnson. my question is would the lower unit from the 3.6 fit the 200? i always assumed not, but read some stuff (on the ever reliable internet) the other day, that got me thinking otherwise. figured id bounce it off you guys. thanks id advance

The years for a looper were 1986 to 1991 were interchangeable so no.

It will fit. But it is much larger in diameter and it is 3/4 inch longer from the mating flange to the prop shaft. It also has 1:75 gears in it which is like going up 1 inch in pitch on your prop.
