I wouldn't say that is a very accurate description but it is the one of the nicest twisty rivers that I have ever run and the group of people & boats that attend are second to none. You will be able to burn plenty of fuel in 3 days for sure.

Plenty of room to stretch it out but there are many homes on the river . Longest straight sections are south of Fanning Springs toward the gulf . Bring spare prop , tools gas and a tow rope as standard equipment . Real easy to run 80 - 90 miles if you have enough fuel .

Cheifland is a better option than Old Town, then you have the Days Inn, Best western, etc. the BBQ is at Toms, which I'm sure he will post directions or a map later.

Basically the real perk was being able to leave the boat in all weekend. The rooms are not as nice as the big chains that every else stays at.

Another option that the Texas boys did was rent a riverfront house for the weekend which would be a little more cost effective if say 2 or 3 couples share a house

How much room is at that dock at the gables? Going to stay there also but the dock looks like it will only hold a few boats.

Their dock is about 125 ft long, not in the best shape. At the icebreaker, my boat was the only one there left in the water all weekend. I wasn't worried.
