Finished my Whaler!
Last September, I picked up a 1970 - 13' Whaler to redo as a project for my daughter and I. Figured I'd have it done by no later than her birthday (February), but clearly I was mistaken. Haha.
Boat had the original trailer and original 400 Merc. Once we got it home, we stripped everything down and got to work. The motor had compression, and turned over but the electronics were pretty much shot. Boat was solid and dry, as my wife and I were able to lift it off the trailer. Someone had previously done a quick roller paint job and was not very good. The gel had the normal Whaler crazing, along with pitting. Went through everything, including the motor, and all is new except one of the seats, the front hatch, and the steering wheel. Exterior is paint, and the interior was done with Tuff-Coat. Got the boat wet for the first time on Saturday, and ran it all weekend. The boat, for the most part is done, and all that remains is the trailer and a few odds and ends on the boat.
One is from the day we picked it up, and the other is from Saturday afternoon.
Here's the full album of the resto. It's on FB, but it's set as a public album.

Congrats.
Big fun in a tiny boat.I'd rather be competitive w/junk I built in my garage than win w/stuff I bought.
I refuse to allow common sense to interfere w/my boat buying decisions.

Looks nice, we ran my sons 15 footer a hundred miles today. Use it with her every time that you get the chance-it goes by way to fast and then the next thing you know, she is caught up in life and parents are only for holidays it seems.
