96 super mag 225 not getting over 3500 rpm
Well i cant seem to get all the issue out of this thing since ive bought it . Had switch boxes leave me stranded a couple of weeks ago. I went on a little lake fishing trip this weekend night fishing . Did good the first night and saturday, sat night did good most of the night . And just all of a sudden i was barely able to get on plane and just crusing like 3000 rpm im good give it wide open throttle its seems like its missing and cant get over 3500. Im thinking trigger or stator? both switchboxes are brand new .

I finally came to the conclusion on the older motors to just replace all the ignition electrics (except coils) all at once to eliminate any weak spots in the system. You need to do a spark check and see what is going on. Could be trigger or stator, even a bad coil.....
