    Tickled pink with new rifle

Guys did a lot of homework before pulling the trigger on my newest Preditor rifle , I chose the Ruger American Preditor in 6.5 creedmoore caliber and man Ruger hit a homer , as many know I live in east Texas feral hog capital of the planet during summer hogs and predictors is the only thing to hunt , between me and my son - in -law Matt we have killed st least 15 hogs with this new weapon the gun is bull but not to heavy has threaded end for suppressed shooting or muzzle brake which with the small recoil IMO isn't needed , I own several higher end rifles with some major $$ optics attached and they won't hold a candle to this $400.00 rifle in fact I haven't taken another gun from the safe in 6 months at 3000 feet a second and it's 1/2" groupings why bother.
Those fixing to pull the trigger on new deer rifle I would feel rock solid putting the drop on any soft skinned animal at 400 yards + ..

    Good shooting ,

With the way the civil unrest is going, you may want to practice shooting cupcakes .
    But seriously.....
What's the effective range on that gun?

the 6.5/264 cal projectile is unique in its ballistic coefficiency
and aerodynamics.. It all started with the 6.5x55 Swedish cartridge 120 yrs ago, created by very smart people before software.. It's can sustain fps better than most anything else within the confines of popular calibers.. a 130-140gr 6.5 @ 2750 fps is more capable than those numbers would suggest at a glance..

I hunted in Ok. Last year and shot a white tail @ 100 yards he ran 50 yards tried to jump a creek and is butt went over his head , at cleaning time my outfitter said he's cleaned lots of deer but this round did more damage than most 300 win mags , deer weighed 200 ish and had a hell of a will to live as most white tails do on the other hand as tough as feral hogs are known to be I have never had any hog this rifle had brought down from 75-300 lbs that's taken as many as 1 step before dropping most of my shots are from 150-175 yards when one looks at this round you wouldn't think it would cause so much carnage but believe me it does .....
