2.5 merc Top of crank kind of blue- like heated up

2.5 merc - top bearing surface of crank has that blue'ish color like from being hot- bearing is the same- bearing surface and bearing show no defects- just the color- crank otherwise excellent- motor is apart because of lean out on #2 with aluminum transfer- No other signs of overheat (no melted module wires on top of block)
Is this a big deal or OK?

If the color is barely on the surface and not deep at all, no harm. If it runs deeper than .001 or so, you have lost some temper.

Should be a hose or line running between the upper and lower bearing caps. Oil is fed to the upper bearing with the hose.

The line from the bottom bearing to the top is there on EFI's and carbs. Ensure the check valve is working correctly
