Video definitely sheds some light on what the old timers on Kissimmee and Okeechobee always told me about Mercs almost 30 years after it was made. "Mercs run better in the grass that's why there's so many of em around" - I saw very few J/Es until the GT150 came out, and even then they didn't get popular until the looper "fast strike" and "vindicators" were released.

We used to run the older 25 mercs (cav plate water pickup) through the grass and slop to get back to our duck hunting areas, never missed a beat. Took some work to do it the first few times but it was nice to hunt without people jumping in your blind like they can now with the surface drives.
