I found this, it's looking like the power assisted Tournament series would be the route if I decide to go this way.

The keyway helps alot with a chine walking V bottom like an Allison, Hydrostream, or bassboat. The non keyway seems to work just as well on a cat since they don't chine walk.

I've looked around online a little and haven't seen anyone that offers the side steer setup like pictured in this thread. Is it something that has to be fabbed or are there vendors that provide them?

The best and safest are the double side steerings. One cylinder on each side of the engine in case one fails... I wasn't sure it would fit on my boat so I went Tournament Series. That one ARP bolt is a weakness... I check that one before every run.
Here in Sweden double side systems begin at about $2,500-3,000.

Imco unless you want to pay 50-60% more for Latham. I can get you 10% off IMCO.

For the XS outside package it's the IMCO SA-74 kit. Wings plate, ram, pin and hoses, about $1900, give or take. Add a 2.4 Seastar helm the Power Assist unit and hoses and you are around $4k. It's about the cheapest you can rig a side ram system using new parts.

Do you really need the power assist unit?

Once you have it you do... It's like sliced bread "be really hard to go back after being so spoiled". For anyone looking at new side ram options, you need to consider Zeiger. Paul Everett is a great guy to deal with and makes an absolutely beautiful system-We are using his parts on the new DW 28s.

What he said...No need for power assist imho.

That Tournament piece looks more substantial than Sea Star's Pro unit IMO. Pretty nice system.
