I always wondered if Molinari built the plugs for those molds or did Glastron just get an agreement to pop molds from a couple of existing race boats? I did some mold building back in the day and it is much easier to use a purpose built plug than an actual wood race boat.

I am near Leonardtown and have been looking for a Vintage Tunnel for the races next year. I once owned the E&T that Kim Edwards drives and would love to have it back someday! If you come across anything (Molinari, Burgess etc) that qualifies for the requirements for the vintage class, please let me know. Joe

Joe, Please give me a call or email concerning a boat in the MD area to run in Vintage. Think we (TDO - Those Damn Outboards) can lend you a hand finding something and getting involved.

I ran an 18' Glastron molinari with a 1250 BP Stacker. Without water injection it would not run over 35 or 40 mph downwind and msybe 75 into the wind. With wster injection we saw 80 in almost evety direction. As stated earlier they are not very fast and need considerable set up time.great in rough water, but the wooden versions ate them for lunch in all conditions.
20 Foot Switzer Wing 2 X S3000 (Dust'n the Wind II)
!6 foot Wood Eltro Vee (2X Merc 1500's) (Dust'n the Wind IV)
15 foot Powercat 15C (2 X Merc 1500) (Dust'n the Wind III)
(Single engine boats are lacking something)
15’ Wooden Switzer Shooting Star...
16 foot Lee Craft Merc S 3000-(Gold Dust II)
(The exception proves the rule)
