It's defiantly not too low. Lol if anything I might drop it down a hole. I got a bit greedy. The prop is on the very edge of blowing out with any trim input and the AV plate has about 1" of air above the water at cruise.
I need to bring a bunch of props home and try some out. I'm "technically " in the WOT range by a few hundred rpm. I'm not sure I want to give up my cruise with a smaller prop it is a fishing boat/family cruiser so top end is not that big of a deal. I'll see what I can come up with though.
I might grab an enirtia off the self and give it a shotLast edited by RSWORDS; 10-07-2017 at 09:33 AM.

It's better to be propped out as close to max rpm as possible My friends boat has twin 225 opti's and when over propped, he gets 65, when he drops down a pitch, he hit's 70 and tickles the limiter..

In this setup I can't give you exact numbers because I havent run that far.. Bit in my experiance rigging other boats I would say easy 25% increase. On 3 liter carb/efi motors it's almost double.
BUT also in my experience oil consumption stays about the same. If you think about it though.... the engine is making the same number of revolution between point a and b so oil requirement should be the same. It's a little better but not the same gain as fuel.
Fuel burn aside.... the extra torque is amazing. With 8 people on board the boat didn't give two ****s about getting up on plane where with the old 2.5 you knew it was loaded heavy. So even if the fuel burn was equal (which it's not) the opti has way better driveabilityLast edited by RSWORDS; 10-10-2017 at 09:17 PM.
