What a ship. And I'm on another boating forum with one of the surgeons aboard. He keeps us up to date.

It was interesting too watch. There is two large Naval Stations in Washington State, at Bremerton and the other at Everett. The homeport of the carrier USS Nimitz is at one of them. The house I grew up had ocean views and also boating pretty much daily in the summer during the 1980's. Saw the Nimitz a few times in person cruising up too Alaska, etc. or coming into Everett. These things are even more impressive and massive in person..................

The North Korea threat is a real concern of mine. Partly because BC is between two US states that are the prime targets of North Korea and their missile program. Both are the closest to North Korea target wise for them to strike America is Alaska and Washington State. I was in grade 3 when Mt. Saint Helens erupted. Despite being about a six hour drive from my elementary school, I remember the ash falling on our school grounds back then. So it is a fear, that in a nuclear attack, Washington and Alaska are pretty much guaranteed to be targets!
In the Canadian gulf islands on Vancouver Island near Nanaimo, the Canadian and US Navies share a naval station near there at Nanoose Bay, its mostly for testing naval warfare measures.

Net Greenpeace, founded here in Vancouver. Basically harassed the US Navy when in our waters. Even as a kid, I couldn't understand why they'd try and block the US Navy from our waters. I see an aircraft carrier go by, its not only a cool piece of military might. I fully believe in the peace through strength doctrine!
I appreciate the fact that America can and does put a carrier group in strike distance of places like North Korea. I like that for Russia to invade western Canada, they need to get past the US military to do so!
Id have zero problem if President Trump used a launch test as pretext to turn loose a carrier group on North Korea.................
