Help with Identifying Merc V6

So, over in the marketplace there's a motor for sale that I've been chatting with bigbuckdj about. He's not 100% certain what the motor is, nor am I. Just want to clarify what I'm getting myself into upon purchase.
We're assuming from the info we've received thus far, that this has 2.4L heads on it. I'm going to guess that the block is a 175hp. Any clue as to what year the motor is, what year the mid section is, and what kind of bores this motor has?

Guys mechanic said it was a 2.0L...... Any help is appreciated!

It has low comp in one cylinder and I'm looking at picking it up for a rebuild.
