Exclamation Randy Rabe History Photo Archive BATCH FIVE Posted!

Here is batch five, from the huge collection of photo prints and slides owned by Randy Rabe and sent to me by Parker. There were a great deal of images scanned for this group, so I am dividing it into two batches. Batch six will follow very shortly.

Thanks again to Parker Rabe for sending this huge box of photos to me for scanning. I hope you enjoy them!

Anybody know who is in the #725 McCall? Doesn't look like Bobby Drewery or his number. I know I ran against this boat at Nationals 1n 1974 but can't remember who was in it.

Jacksonville Outboard Club? Its a small, gated housing development now.

I recognize Coit and Peacock in this batch. I never saw the long single and twin tunnel boats running at any race I was at.

Never did run at Jacksonville. Those tunnels look like the designer figured if he made them long enough and put the drivers weight far enough forward they wouldn't blow over. Might have been right too, with those flat decks not much aero lift. Back then everybody was just guessing.

These batches of pictures show the great variety of boats we were racing at that time. Every builder took his best guess at what would work. And then we owners and drivers tried to make them work. When the builders got it right it was wonderful. When they missed, not so much.

Inlet Marine was here in Jacksonville Fl, and a lot of those pictures were taken out at the old Jacksonville Outboard Club at the end of Edenfield Rd. Spent a bunch of my childhood out there, good memories.
