black max wont power up/ plane out

I got a 135hp blackmax on a trade, put it on a 18 foot center console, took it out other day and sputtered, and ran like crap, went home and started testing, found out only had spark on 3 cylinders, so traced it to stator, swapped out yesterday and have spark now, just took it out again, and no sputter, runs and idles great, but when down to full throttle, just wont go, pics up a little bit but not much, I have a 13.75 / 21p prop on it, only one I had in the garage, is it possible its too much prop? boat too heavy? thanks for any input

Could be too much prop. Good easy way to test is to back your boat into the water untill the avatation plate is just touching the water. With the boat fully strapped onto the trailer you can put it into gear and rev it way up to see if the motor will re. The way ya want it to. It will give the mota a load but will suck in air and spinn high enough to let ya know if its running up on rpm
