100:1 amsoil used for 225 promax

I've ran amsoil 100:1 saber on my 200 venom 200 since I've had it . I now have a 96 mariner 225 promax . Can I run this with this motor or no ? If not what's the best oil to use for these engines ? And should I drain the tank before I run it ?

Drain the tank? Like the gas tank or the oil tank? I'm gu swing the oil injection is gone?

Run 50:1 unless you have raised the limiter and are turning over 6500 a lot then run 40:1. I prefer pennzoil premium plus but I have ran Lucus and amzoil in a pinch.

Like 90 5.0 said run 40 or 50-1 only!! i run 40-1 only i spin to wot all the time. 100-1 is not good at all for your motor!!! i would most definitely drain your tank into some jerrycans or what ever ya got for fire starter or the lawn mower. Reason being if you mix 40-1 now you will never know what ya got in there and its important to have the proper mix. Start fresh then never change the mix that way you know what ya got all the time. https://www.lowes.ca/automotive-acce...Q&gclsrc=aw.ds I have this product it works amazing for siphoning!!

You can mix your oils that you use for changing from one good product to the next. For instance if you had Amsoil 40-1 and were changing to 40-1 Premium pluss thats ok as long as the mix is not changing. You start changing the mix with fuel in the tank you'll never know what the mix has become and thats a good way to clog up injectors or fry your motor!! Drain it as close as ya can to empty and start over then never mess up the mix for best results. i have run 40-1 for ever and no problems. Motor looks clean and fresh inside. i only run Merc Prem Pluss. but i have tried a few other oils. The Pennzoil Premium pluss is the same as Merc Prem Pluss only less money. i always give it a shot of Merc Quikclean with ever fill also.

I think that amsoil saber claims right on the bottle that it's safe to run at 100:1 in high performance 2 cycle engines. I know that seems very thin on oil, but they claim it's safe. I probably would not run it at 100:1 just because I'm used to the old days when it was fairly common to run at 32:1 or even 24:1.

My bad. I just looked it up and it says it's more designed for hand held 2 cycle engines like chainsaws and weed trimmers, ect.

40-1 7500 rpm or less, no less than 50-1 with stock limiters 6950 rpm. Even then i like 40-1. Steal sleeve motors like semi synthetic more than full synthetic also. Nic Full synthetic. There are lots of right ups on the reasoning behind it. Works for me.

Oil is your friend, I run 24 to 1 in my mercs and 50 to 1 in my evinrudes.
If I don't ask any questions, I'll never learn anything.

I know amsoil say 100:1. Which is cheaper? Powerhead or a little extra oil?

Back in the early 90's when we were trail riding 125cc moto bikes we would carry that with us to fuel on the trail. I did burn up a crank main bearing using it at 100:1 but that was the only issue i had with it on a 125cc bike. It was just too easy to bring with on the bike and that little bottle got us 5-6 gallons of mix, I am surprised it ran in your 200 venom with no bearing issues over the years.

Couple years back I had some weedeater oil that said to mix 100:1 on the bottle. Fried the weed eater.

Learned my my lesson then about bottles that claim you can run 100:1, and a weedeater rebuild is a hell of a lot cheaper than a powehead Hahahaha

Saber is formulated for up to 100:1. I know guys that run it 60:1 in dirt bikes. Personally I would not run it that lean. Why don't you just add more oil to what you have in the tank now? I like premium plus at 40 or 50:1. I run Dominator in my hot rod motors 40 or 50:1 depending on rather I going to run wide open all day or not.

thinking same as cali kid. why drain tank. just add oil. if you dont know how much gas you have. fill it up and put enough oil for whatever the tank size is for 50to1. the extra oil in that will not hurt anything.
