    Srx reworked or stock?

    Hi all,

I bought a 29 srx on here a long time ago.

I wonder of this is still stock or modified? If modified can someone tell if it has the mods that are required to make the srx into a good performer?

There is a stamp that says PFR so I think it has been modified. Is this a stamp of a prop shop?

    Hopefully someone on here knows...

    Thanks

that has definitely been worked on, look at the cup on the tips , very nicely done too by the looks of it.

what is wrong with how its performing ? do have this right up high where they like to run ?

Running pretty good. Only from dead stop and full throttle it hesitates / motor bogs a bit. Not the case with my chopper 28. Was just wondering what has been done to it and who did the work...

Is the leading edge flat or does it have a roll like a large radius cup to it? They call this camfer, lot of prop guys add this to cut down on cavitation during take off. The srx normally bites better with less cavitation than most over hub props. If it has camfer added to it, you may can have some removed to loosen it up some.

    Dont think so... Pretty flat.

Do they do this on the entire leading edge?

Mostly at the widest section near the middle to closer to the hub. A have seen some go the entire length, but usually flatten back out as it nears the tip.

Yes, I agree definitely worked for higher top end and higher motor running. How heavy is the boat it is running on and how much HP ? If boat is upward of 2000 lbs and motor of 250 hp or more be careful as the ears are not super strong and you could break one off.

No blade problems with these props, they are very good/ fast props. It looks to have a good bit of cup in trailing edge and on tip. These props cavitate very little compared to a chopper on take off. The 29 may be too big, may need to drop to the 27. DAH is the man for these props, I'm sure he can make it do whatever you need it to do. He normally adds the camfer to the leading edge which makes them quicker out the hole and also acts like a progresssion pitch causing it to act smaller down low. I would contact him and see what he suggest. Also are you running it high enough? They love being high and with trailing edge cup added should just add to it. (You probably don't need that much, from what I can tell on the ones I have from DAH he doesn't fool with the trailing edge much, just tip and leading edge)

I have the srx on just the 23 pitch but then I also only have 70hp on tap, my prop is pretty original and is a proper dog out the hole.
it just takes ages to bite properly and is a nightmare if running down low for top end. once its on the plane it pulls strong.
I would like to get the amount of tip cupping that is on the prop at the top , that is realy nice amount and im sure would give me a lot more bow lift and a lot more top end speed.
I have read a few bits recently about the chamfer/roll on the leading edge, that just might be the ticket for me on the pull away.
whoever done that one at the top looks like he knows how to make a nice but of cupping, that trailing edge looks a massive amount and it has great tip cupping too.

somebody must know who PER is . got to be more of them about
