well everything is grey now,not going to do a split pan besides it being cool I just don't see any real advantage in it ? I have been saving this cherry hood for 12 yrs just for a motor like this.I like the decals but not the color it does have some scratches but pretty nice any advise on a motor color to match the decals?

I would go with the red and black. How about the pan red. The mid and clamps black and the gray on the cowl red. If ya wanna go a little crazyer paint the LU white . BTW Put a 1 in front of the 90 on the cowl!!!!! And I'm pissed ya didn't sell me that one! Gary

A split pan makes it a lot easier to get to the thermostats, bottom carb, bottom spark plug for compression tests without kinking the compression tester hose and easier to clean.

No stats gutted dry stacked , no need to get to bottom carb for a jet change unless I come to your neck of the woods fl so I just drill a hole on both sides of the pan and its an easy jet swap for the bottom carb

Just the lower, but like you say, too much filler to deal with unless you can find an old timer who does the lead filler work
