birth,rebirth or afterbirth of a 12 inch v-4,v-6 crossflow omc mid

Figured out the tach scotty had it on the wrong pole setting.

What gets me is my other racing buddy had a runny mod v-4 with a 2 inch adapter plate and short say 5 inch tuner just like mine.The adapter plate he had was to be able to mount a 12 inch merc champ midsection to the omc v-4 head.The champ mid if you know them has a rear snout right out the back if you looked in it you could cleary see the stock cut off tuner.My tuner is the same it is 1 inch above the bottom of the mid and right down the lower unit and out the prop ????

Well I needed a few alum washers so I made 4 of them.

Thought I would get the prop today but mr hill added the ups trac# and it wont come up to track it so I guess its on the *ing slow boat from china probally where it was cast from??????

rj would like to test it just with the new holes in exhaust to see if it made a difference no other changes same 30 clever same motor height.Now with a tach that works.Just want to try one thing at a time to try and nail it down to one change at a time to figure it out cause it will be great knowledge in the future to see what things do.And try the 26 chopper as it sits right now no other changes and then go from there.Got the guys 115 powerhead rebuilt will install it tomorrow and get paid two more boats coming in for some work so wont be able to get out till weekend got to pay for fun some how LOL

Was saving that story to ask him about it next time I see him. Will call ya later this week. Early am at the ramp either or both days this weekend works for me. No more afternoon weekend runs, your back will thank you! Thursday evening if it's nice out for a quick test, bring the camera!

will do bud if don't have the new prop would like to just try it with the opened up exhaust and see what the tach reads and than try the 26 chopper than go from there if all else a can put your powerhead on in 30 min and see if its the mid and tuner? still plenty of good weather before the freeze your nuts run comes LOL hahaha

small changes one at a time to peg it down.When we find it we got it and the knowledge will be priceless from your 15 taylor mid to my 15 and 12 inch combos.

I like the look of those 135 engine lids, they can look realy cool with a nice paint job and the right decals.
to me they look very modern when done right and give a hot rod look.
sort of coupe version of the v4 , chopped roof
