I think somebody clocked it last year - the run from Shellmound to Chattanooga is 41 miles (1-way) - maybe Chummy can confirm. I burned right around 23 gallons if I remember right for that run to Chattanooga and back.

I just measured the distance in Google Maps and from Shellmound ramp to Chattanooga is 38.92 miles. Now that will vary according to how far past the bridges in Chattanooga you travel and how much you zig zag through the river but that should give you plenty close enough to plan for fuel useage.

Thank you Capt, I never knew for sure where exactly everyone stopped. I have turned around before the bridges both times I went.

Note there is also a cool sand bar that everyone can hangout at if they wanted to, it's on the left if you're headed to Chattanooga. There is a volleyball net setup and is a nice area to hangout.

Put on a big prop and run!....27"-30" pitch should do.
    Fuel mileage should be good.

Noon..last time I was there I left and sun up...and made three more trips during the rest of the day. You can definitely put a hurting on some dinosaurs on that stretch of river.

Depending how the wind is we may ride all the way down to Goose Pond. There is fuel there and food
