We will see what happens when we knock ours heads together but that 2+2 rocket sure looks like what I want.
That's a bad idea IMO. These boats move around too much for a bench. If it weren't for a tight seat, you'd be all over the place in this boat.

Might be bigger and more than you want to spend but, this hull would be a sweet ride with a Monty on the back:

Is there a reason you changed out the front bench?

Mostly due to the fact that for top end running I needed center steer - and that didn't work with the bench. It was super awkward.

How will an Allison RR do with a V8? So many out there for a good price that its worth asking.

My friend has a pro Comp with a 16" V8 I can out you in touch with him. It runs about even with mine when I had the 245 but he wasn't done setting up and he complained of handling issues due to a steering situation that he fixed over the winter so we'll see how it is this year

Keeping that boat on its pad is an art.
Doing w/an 8 on it......., even more of a challenge.

There are a couple of them running around with E-techs though, which would be similar in weight.
You would be moving the center of gravity way back which would not be good.

Handling and stability, especially at speed would be WAYYYYYYYYY different/worse than STV.

I used to describe the difference between driving the two as, you get out of an STV after a blast and can't wipe the smile off your face.
When you get out of an A Bote after a blast, you need a cigarette!

Kingswang, have you looked into Wicked Power boats or LCB Sport. This cat will handle a V8 without any problem. Could be set-up any way you want.

If I was gunna put together a boat for a big motor (by big I mean anything north of a 2.5) the only choice would be an LCB - those boats are awesome.
