Autometer tach setting
I'm not sure what I want to set my tach dip switches at. Do I set it for the 6 cyl or 12 pole 6 pulse setting. I had it on the 6 cyl setting and it was registering 3500 at idle. I shut it down and disconnected the sender until I figured it out.

I called auto meter today and according to the tech, I need to have to left switch up and the right switch down. This seems to be the 12 pole/6 pulse setting according to the instructions. Does this sound right? Anyone run across this? I guess I should mention I have a 93 2.5 mercury.
